Part of this bill castrates the SCOTUS all together. Making them merely an advisory board. Trump can or cannot do what they say. We also really need all grassroots movements together. That makes all of us stronger.

Great suggestion from someone on how to mess with the brat's birthday parade. Order two tickets (max allowed) to attend the June 14 military parade....and don't attend! https://events.america250.org/events/250th-anniversary-of-the-us-army-grand-military-parade-and-celebration

Grassroots movements have come together and are working together. https://indivisible.org

There are protests planned on June 14th for all over the country. Find one and attend. We need everyone. We need to give the fascist a birthday president he won’t soon forget

I would love to see veterans in Washington disrupt the parade, in uniform.

I think those who plan to attend should stay silent and turn your back to the parade.

Putting a finer point on it, the understanding I have is that the bill neuters the judicial branch, NOT SCOTUS in particular.

1. It seeks to restrict federal district courts from issuing nationwide injunctions and

2. another provision proposes to diminish the ability of the courts to make the government to comply with judicial rulings.

If this passes, due to the lobotomized republican senators who are acting against so many of their previously expressed values, it is my hope that someone will bring a case to the Supreme Court to declare it unconstitutional - and that the majority would of the court would deem it so.

What a mess.

I have a double broken ankle, but I’ll be online reposting as much of the resistance protest I can & sending collected memes. Remind those that can-make fliers & posters. Babysit, provide rides or water & snacks & make friends! The No Kings site has a good map & 50501. I’ve been hearing that a lot of ppl have had no idea protest were going on-we have to reach them.

What we need is a movement to pressure the senate to remove the attempt to do an end run around the courts hidden in this bill during reconciliation. That has become much more of a problem than Medicaid. It the bill is signed as is, the courts will not be able to stop anything. We will then no longer be a democracy.

It feels awful to observe what is going on in anger and frustration. Calling my rep and going to protests doesn’t seem enough. I want to run, to get away from this awful nightmare I wake up to daily. I’m just so sad when I think of all the suffering he has caused .

Hun, I think we all are feeling that way at times. Take breaks whenever needed. Do something you enjoy. Know you are not alone ever. I also like watching Robert Reich or Jim Acosta or watching Jasmine Crockett rip someone a new one and be with it all the way and never flip her hair🤣. Sorry had to jab at propaganda Barbie.

At the risk of sounding weird sending up prayers, positive energy and happiness your way.

WE ARE IN IT TOGETHER. NEVER ALONE. IN IT TO WIN IT. DON'T FORGET TO BREATHE.

1965 – Medicare and Medicaid (why is it necessary?)

Please read all of this and share it.

Before the introduction of Medicare, seniors relied on various means for healthcare, often encountering significant challenges. Many depended on personal savings, family support, or private health insurance if they could afford it. Some turned to community clinics or home remedies, while others delayed seeking professional care due to high costs. Congress is currently in the process of making changes to this essential program for the elderly.

Public discussions often highlight concerns about these programs' financial impact on taxpayers. There are claims that illegal immigrants contribute significantly to these costs. Here are verifiable facts: The general age for Medicare eligibility is 65 years old. However, individuals under 65 may also be eligible if they have a disability, end-stage renal disease (ESRD), or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), according to the Social Security Administration.

If an illegal immigrant is injured or sick and goes to a hospital emergency room, the hospital is mandated to provide service.

How do hospitals pay for uninsured patients?

Public funding from federal, state, and local governments accounts for approximately 75 to 85 percent of the total value of uncompensated care provided to uninsured individuals each year.

In a hospital emergency room, an individual's insurance status does not determine whether they will be treated. Under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), hospitals must provide a medical screening exam and stabilizing treatment to any patient with an emergency medical condition, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. This law ensures that all patients, including non-U.S. citizens, have access to emergency medical treatment.

Obligations of Hospitals:

Hospitals participating in Medicare (which includes most hospitals) must:

·         Provide a medical screening examination to all individuals who present to their ER to determine if an emergency medical condition exists.

·         If an emergency medical condition is found, stabilize the condition or transfer the patient to a facility capable of providing appropriate care.

Right to Care:

Regardless of immigration status, non-U.S. citizens have the right to emergency care under EMTALA. They cannot be denied treatment based on their inability to pay, lack of insurance, or citizenship status.

Potential for Reporting:

Some states require hospitals to collect data on the costs of providing emergency and inpatient care for undocumented immigrants, but this does not affect the hospital's legal obligation to provide care under EMTALA.

Can an legal immigrant qualify for Medicare?

Yes, lawful permanent residents (green card holders) can qualify for Medicare, subject to specific requirements and timelines. Generally, they need to be 65 or older, be U.S. residents, and have been lawful permanent residents for at least five continuous years before applying. They must also have worked in the U.S. for at least ten years to qualify for premium-free Part A, which covers hospital care.

Eligibility Requirements:

·         Age Requirement: Must be 65 or older.

·         U.S. Residency: Must live in the U.S.

·         Lawful Permanent Resident: Must hold a green card.

·         Continuous 5-Year Residency: Must have resided in the U.S. for at least five continuous years before applying.

·         Premium-Free Part A: Must have worked in the U.S. for at least ten years (equivalent to 40 quarters).

Green card holders who have worked in the U.S. and paid into the Social Security system may qualify for Social Security benefits, assisting with healthcare costs.

In this nation we have always taken care of those in need or at least we try to. Are we now going to decide because you do not meet certain qualifications that if you are in need of medical services that hospitals will be able to deny those services to a fellow human being. Are they to die in a parking lot? We cannot call ourselves Christians if this is what we choose to do. We all need to take a stand for each other. We need to tell congress to do the right thing. Believe me, they know what to do we
