Leah Greenberg: After the presidential election, I feared that Donald Trump and the MAGA movement would successfully consolidate power into an authoritarian regime, and I believed that the central challenge of this year was to build a pro-democracy movement capable of halting that process of authoritarian consolidation and catalyzing massive backlash.

A year later, we’ve seen indescribable, unfathomable levels of harm—to our families, our neighbors, our democracy—but we’ve also seen the explosion of a powerful pro-democracy movement, the fracturing of the MAGA coalition, and the unpopularity of Trump’s own horrendous actions catch up with him. We’ve held open the political and civic space necessary to keep the fight going, which was the single most crucial mandate for 2025.

Katie Bethell: Trump, his administration, and the entire Republican Party were not ready for all of us to fight right on back for our fellow Americans and our communities. Millions of us have peacefully taken the streets in historic numbers—with tens of thousands more protests held already in 2025 compared to the first year Trump took office. As we close out the first year of the second Trump administration, remember this: When they won last November, Donald Trump and Republicans were counting on us to give up and let them take over our country. We haven’t and we won’t.

At the same time, we can’t sugarcoat the heartbreaking reality of where we are one year later. With the backing of a Republican-led Congress and a MAGA majority on the Supreme Court, President Trump has inflicted pain, suffering, and chaos on the American people. Republicans have stripped away health care, ripped immigrants away from their families, taken a wrecking ball to our freedoms and democracy, and more.

Maurice Mitchell: Looking back to last year, I felt a profound sadness as I realized the full intention behind MAGA movement and a deep sense of dread, fear, and concern for all those who would be harmed. But I also felt a powerful defiance. I believed that to overcome that dread, we would have to earn our way through organizing. Every day since, we have focused on building the broadest, most diverse, and most leaderful movement possible. Now, a year later, while I still remain concerned about the Trump administration, I feel great momentum and encouragement. I believe we will win. The past election was, to me, a rebuke.

What are moments during 2025 that have given you the most hope and encouragement?

KB: I fiercely believe that humanity will overcome the harshness as a result of the countless acts of courage, care, and compassion emanating from both passionate grassroots activists and everyday Americans. But I realize that you can’t take in the news this year without coming face to face with the unrelenting cruelty coming from this administration. Every day MoveOn members and Americans are coming together to push back and overcome this pain from the Trump administration and the growing affordability crisis. It’s remarkable to see joyful, peaceful protests, from neighbors protecting neighbors against ICE raids to those flooding their town halls to save health care. And these demonstrations and acts of resistance are not just happening in the big Democratic stronghold cities, but in ruby red rural communities, by people young and old and every age in between.

One of the most inspiring stories I’ve heard this year comes from MoveOn’s community activist cohort in Arizona, District 1. Every Monday, since early June, they have been showing up to collect food donations to raise awareness about the budget cuts to the SNAP program that Trump and Republicans in Congress enacted. They have collected more than 3,500 pounds of food for local food banks in the Scottsdale region!

MM: Our electoral victories affirm the movement we are building. At their core, elections are an honest process of votes, tallies, and clear outcomes. The resounding victory this past November was a win for democracy and an even greater triumph for the Working Families Party. Every election leading up to November, and those since, confirms that our argument powerfully reflects where working people stand. It is a persuasive case, coalescing new coalitions—a truth we saw in mayor’s races from New York to Seattle, in city councils from Jersey City to Fort Collins, and in special elections and primaries like the one in the Tucson area. Again and again, these results affirm that our movement is rowing in the right direction.

LG: The Hands Off, No Kings, and No Kings 2 rallies were moments of incredible hope for me. We saw mass mobilization on a literally unprecedented scale, millions of people flooding the streets, and the seeds of hyper-local organizing sprouting in thousands of communities across the country.

There have been periods like the one we’re in throughout history. Who are the resistance heroes you look to for inspiration during times like these?

MM: I think it’s important to talk about the contributions of Black Americans in the anti-fascist fight. Ida B. Wells and W.E.B. Du Bois and many of the folks who fought against lynching, they explicitly talked about it as an anti-fascist movement. There were also a number of Black people who went to Spain to fight against fascism informed by their struggle against white supremacy in the United States.

So, yes, we can look at modern-day Brazil that defeated Bolsonaro or the legacy of fighting fascism in Germany and Europe. But we also have this legacy of fighting fascism right here in the United States.

LG: I’m inspired by Diane Nash, an architect of the Nashville lunch counter campaign, Freedom Rides, and one of the key organizers of SNCC. Her extraordinary courage and strategic vision allowed her to organize effective challenges to the systems of segregation and racial authoritarianism in America.

What makes you optimistic going into 2026? Where do you see the movement going?

LG: For every horrific act by the Trump administration, there are a hundred regular people who are taking real risks to defy this hateful regime, protect and support their neighbors, and stand up for our values and our democracy. There are more of us than there are of them and in 2026 we’ll prove it in the streets and at the ballot box.

KB: Across the movement and at MoveOn, our members are more energized now than they have been in years. And, as we predicted when Trump was elected, his chaotic and anti-American agenda has only resulted in historically low favorability. Our pressure is working. The MAGA dam is breaking.

I’m optimistic that, as they see the leadership and energy of the grassroots, we will see more Democrats wielding their power and leverage to ramp up the pressure against Trump’s authoritarian rule, his federal takeover of our cities, his health care cuts, his terrorizing ICE raids, and other deeply unpopular parts of his agenda. I’ve been proud to see elected officials like Senator Chris Van Hollen doggedly working to return his constituent Kilmar Abrego Garcia home to his family, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker enacting laws to blunt Trump, whether to protect immigrants from ICE or to protect the privacy of Americans with autism. And there are many more Democratic champions out there, who are raising hell and not afraid to get their hands dirty in calling the administration out and standing with everyday people.

More people are also thinking about what’s next—we cannot only be anti-Trump, we have to show the country we’re fighting for a new system that works for them. There’s growing distrust and outrage from people of all walks of life over the growing economic and political power concentrated in the hands of billionaires. Together, we can continue turning that outrage into action. History has shown us that with each hurdle, our fight for progress comes back stronger, louder, and more effective.

MM: The past election was a rebuke of MAGA and Trump—a rejection of his failed policies and his economy. It was an affirmation that everyday working people, across all races and regions, are facing economic hardship and reject the cruelty and chaos of MAGA. This moment presents a possibility, an opening for the broadest solidarity movement to come together in 2026—but only if we build it, only if we organize it. There is a hunger for a grassroots economic populism, grounded in the principles of solidarity, and it is our mandate to meet that demand in the hearts of working people everywhere.

With insurance premiums on the Affordable Care Act marketplace skyrocketing and the halting of SNAP benefits, far too many of our friends and neighbors will find themselves needing to choose between life-saving medical care and food.

Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. They can end this at any time by passing a funding bill that lowers healthcare costs and brings federal employees back to work.

But we refuse to sit around and wait for the day they develop some compassion for their own constituents. We’re strategizing, and we’re fighting back.

The federal government has remained shut down for nearly a month, with government workers going without pay, because Trump and congressional Republicans are refusing to extend premium tax credits for people who use the ACA.

It was as chilling an attack on freedom of speech as we’ve seen in generations.

But hundreds of thousands of people stood up and spoke out—and Disney ended up backing down. Jimmy Kimmel returned to the airwaves on most ABC stations last night.

Attacks like these are made so much easier when only a handful of mega-corporations control what we see, hear, and scroll through every day.

Forty years ago, 50 different companies comprised 90% of the U.S. media market. That number is now down to just five. All of those corporations have mergers that need to be approved by the federal government. And every media company is vulnerable to corrupt threats or promised rewards coming from Trump and his hand-picked FCC chair.

That includes corporations like Nexstar—who just announced they will keep Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air on its 32 local ABC stations, and who needs Donald Trump’s approval for a $6 billion merger.

Right now, the Trump administration is growing more desperate by the day.

Whatever support they once enjoyed from working people is sinking as fast as grocery prices, health care costs, and our other bills are rising.

They may be growing weaker and weaker in the polls, but we know what their playbook will be—more threats, more bullying, and more attempts to try and silence our voices and our votes in order to hold on to power. And these media companies will continue to be in their sights.

This is about so much more than just late-night TV. Donald Trump wants the power to cancel, prosecute, or deport anyone who looks at him the wrong way. He’s a thin-skinned leader who can’t stand the idea that someone might disagree with him.

He’s also the second least popular president in recent history at this moment in his term—second only to himself. And that combination is a dangerous one.

And as we’ve seen over and over, institutions and corporations who could stand up to him are either afraid to do so or more than willing to go along.

But we’ve also seen what happens when regular people decide to stand up and fight back against this deeply unpopular administration: the bullies end up caving.

We believe power in America doesn’t come from a throne. And it doesn’t come from a corporate boardroom. It comes from the people. And the people are saying that they’ve had enough.

Like a third-rate mob boss, Trump’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chair issued a public threat to “take action” against stations airing Jimmy Kimmel for a joke that offended the regime. His actual words: “We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.”

Within hours, ABC/Disney execs (specifically, CEO Bob Iger) chose what they thought was the easy way. They silenced Kimmel because they believe caving to authoritarian censorship is best for their bottom line. It’s on us to prove them wrong and show there’s a price to sacrificing our First Amendment rights at the altar of corporate profit.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the greed, corruption, and cowardice at play here—and then let’s get to work protecting our First Amendment rights. That means boycotts, protests, and demands of our representatives. More on that below.

The State of Play

Trump and his cronies are rapidly working to consolidate power and use the full might of the federal government to squash peaceful dissent—bending media companies, business leaders, universities, and so many other institutions to Trump’s will.

Silencing Kimmel is just one example of how our institutions are putting their own shortsighted self-interest first and choosing to give in to fascism instead of fighting back. Here’s a brief review of how we got here:

• December 2024: ABC/Disney caves to a frivolous defamation lawsuit by Trump, paying $15 million to his presidential library rather than going to court to defend the freedom of the press.

• July 17: CBS announces that it will cancel the late-night show of Trump critic Stephen Colbert. The move comes as CBS’ parent company, Paramount, awaits FCC approval of an $8 billion merger.

• July 18: Trump takes to Truth Social to post that “Jimmy Kimmel is next.”

• July 24: The FCC approves Paramount’s merger just one week after Colbert’s cancellation.

• September 10: Charlie Kirk is murdered. Trump administration officials and other Republican leaders begin calling for a massive crackdown on the left.

• September 15: In his show’s opening monologue, Kimmel notes that Trump and his allies are “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it."

• September 17 (morning): In an interview on a far-right podcast, FCC Chair Brendan Carr openly threatens to revoke the broadcast license of any stations airing Kimmel’s show.

• September 17 (afternoon): Within hours of Carr’s threat, Nexstar Media Group—a TV conglomerate that (like Paramount) wants FCC approval of a merger—says its local ABC affiliates will not air Kimmel's show. Another TV conglomerate with FCC business pending, Sinclair Media Group, rapidly follows suit.

• September 17 (evening): ABC/Disney announce that they are pulling Kimmel's show off the air entirely.

Appeasing a tyrant only leads to more tyranny. If ABC/Disney refuses to reverse their decision, the regime will only become more emboldened to target comedy, opinion, and even news they don’t like. None of us will be free to dissent. None of us will be able to speak our minds.

How we’ll fight back

We need to pressure ABC/Disney to reinstate Kimmel’s program, cease their political collusion with Trump and his FCC lapdogs, and commit to defending free speech.

That means fighting back with our voices and our wallets—because no wannabe king can match the power we wield when millions of us take action together. Here are some things you can do right now:

💬 Use this contact form to send a message to ABC/Disney that we won’t stand for cowardice and corruption. If you’re canceling Disney services, postponing a vacation to a Disney theme park, or taking some other action in response to their corporate cravenness, let them know.

🔥 Email your representative to demand an investigation into government censorship. Carr’s threats may violate the First Amendment and other federal law, but an attempt to subpoena Carr is being blocked. Let’s turn the heat up to demand that Carr, ABC/Disney execs, and their partners be hauled before Congress to testify under oath.

📣 Protest in person. We’ve already heard of dozens of locally led events popping up outside ABC/Disney offices and studios across the country. More will be added to this map.

We’re working with partners nationwide to plan additional actions that push ABC/Disney towards putting free speech over the whims of a wannabe king. We’ll share those as they develop, but for now, let’s use our voices, our dollars, and our people-power to show Disney that they’re standing on the wrong side of history.

Ten months ago, Trump and Vance were elected in large part because of voters' concerns over rising prices. Since then, they've just made the problem worse.

This administration knows how unpopular it is getting. That's why they are lying about the economy, firing government workers who track economic statistics, stealing Congressional seats by redrawing maps, making it harder for workers to organize, and sending troops and masked agents into our communities to try and intimidate and silence us.

One small way we can fight back is by continuing to share our stories about the actual reality that working families face.

Here’s the story: Donald Trump and Dr. Oz* are rolling out a pilot program to fundamentally change Medicare. They want to require seniors to get prior authorization for some healthcare services, and here’s the kicker: Artificial Intelligence (AI) gets to decide whether medical care is approved or not.

Believe it or not, it actually gets worse when you dig into the details of these “AI Death Panels,” which we’ll do in a moment, but if you’re already caught up on this story, here’s what you can do right now:

Email Congress right now and tell them to block Trump’s AI-powered attack on Medicare enrollees’ healthcare.

Introducing AI Death Panels

Medicare has historically covered more procedures, with fewer hoops to jump through, than for-profit insurance companies. Whereas private insurers callously limit care and require “prior authorization” before covering many services or procedures, Medicare offers broad coverage that’s comparatively transparent and simple.

Not anymore, if Trump and Oz get their way. The Trump regime wants to introduce prior authorization—one of the most hated aspects of private insurance—to Medicare, and they’re outsourcing those life-changing authorization decisions to unproven AI companies.

It gets even worse: AI developers will be paid based on the value of requested services or procedures they reject—meaning AI companies would directly profit from denying needed care to senior citizens.

In short, if a computer program decides you “don’t need” a medical procedure—even if your doctor recommended it—an AI executive gets paid while you get left holding the bag.

Remember when the GOP invented the term "death panel" in their scare campaign to stop the Affordable Care Act? That was totally manufactured nonsense. But this is actually happening. Trump is rolling out real-life AI death panels.

What happens now

These for-profit AI Death Panels will roll out this January in six pilot states: Arizona, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington. The pilots will reportedly be limited to about 17 procedures to start, but if they achieve their goal—cutting costs by denying a lot of people a lot of care—they could expand to more procedures and more states.

This attack on Medicare creates massive political risk for Trump and his GOP enablers in Congress. Medicare is one of the most popular public programs in U.S. history, and hard working people typically don’t respond well when politicians interfere with their health decisions.

That gives us an outside chance of swaying enough congressional Republicans to take action to stop AI Death Panels before they roll out—or failing that, we can make them pay a huge political price in 2026.

This is only the latest dystopian move in Trump and Republicans’ campaign to systematically dismantle our healthcare system at the behest of corporate backers and billionaires. With a huge federal funding deadline around the corner, now is the time to fight back hard.

*Did you forget that Trump picked (and GOP Senators confirmed) another disgraced TV star, Dr. Oz, to run the federal agency in charge of Medicare and Medicaid? That’s right, millions of senior citizens’ healthcare is in the hands of a famous snake-oil salesman!

This reaffirms what we already knew, but it underscores a critical point about this moment in our nation’s history.

When we saw the No Kings crowds in city after city in June, we were shocked. Of course we knew this movement was on the right side of history, but you all made No Kings one of the biggest days of protest in the country’s history!

Now it’s time to lace up and do it again on October 18.

Since the first No Kings protests, Trump has only doubled down as a wannabe dictator. He’s deployed the National Guard and masked federal immigration agents in big cities across the country, terrorizing communities and dismantling families. The Trump family has raked in massive hauls of cash from his profiting off the presidency, including billions of dollars just from cryptocurrency schemes. He has tried to criminalize free speech, used the power of the government to target his enemies, and illegally and recklessly wielded tariff policies that have shaken the global economy and made prices go up even more for struggling families.

Unless we, the people, do something, Trump’s brazen criminality and dictatorial behavior will only be enabled.

But, since the first No Kings protest, this movement has only grown. Each time Trump acts as a dictator or conducts another power grab—which is, sadly, very often—interest grows in our movement. Because Americans know and understand the values and principles ingrained in this country: a government of, by, and for the people. Not of or by one man. Not by and for the president’s family and inner circle.

We refuse to stand idly by as the Trump administration snatches our immigrant neighbors off the streets, cuts health care, slashes government programs that help the most vulnerable among us, and rigs elections to centralize and cling to power.

This nation was built on the idea of popular sovereignty—the idea that the government is legitimized by and its power derived from the consent of the people.

No Kings is our way of saying, yet again, that we reject this corrupt administration and authoritarian rule.

No thrones. No crowns. No kings.

When they call something a “distraction,” they are implying that we shouldn't pay attention to it—that we should pay attention to that other thing instead.

Right now, some folks want us to believe that there's really two different things going on. But these aren’t two separate stories. It’s all part of the same story.

On one side, we saw Republicans pass their Big Ugly Law—the largest transfer of wealth from the working class to billionaires in history. They’re gutting Medicaid, slashing nutritional assistance, and leaving families drowning under rising cost of living.

On the other side, we see the federal government occupying our cities, masked ICE agents terrorizing our communities and kidnapping people and deporting families, and Republicans redrawing Congressional districts across the country and attacking our right to vote.

These aren’t two different things. It’s the same damn thing.

Because the only way they can pass something like the Big Ugly Law and feel like they won't see any political repercussions is by doing things like deploying the military to our streets, scaring people with ICE, and trying to redraw maps to favor Republicans in every red state.

These aren't acts intended to distract from each other. These are acts that are meant to enable each other.

It’s all part of one story, a story that a lot of us are familiar with: the billionaires getting richer and working people getting poorer.

Let me give you an example:

The first time I went to the Everglades “Alligator Alcatraz” detention facility in Florida, I saw two private planes on the tarmac. I asked “who do those private planes belong to?” They didn’t look like official government planes to me.

The answer I got? “Oh, they're executives from two of the biggest corporations that are running the place.”

This one facility—part of the national campaign of intimidation and fear against immigrant communities—is also a source of $450 million of Florida taxpayer money going to billionaires and mega corporations. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

It's the same story that we’ve seen for decades. Corrupt politicians and billionaires taking resources away from working people so they can grow even richer. Our democracy being stripped away all so they can keep getting away with it with no accountability.

But we can fight back—and we can beat them. It will take all of us finding strength in each other, organizing together, and building the kind of political power for working people that can’t be ignored.

Right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to ram through a gerrymandered congressional map that would hand Trump five more seats in Congress. Not because voters asked for it, but because they know the actions of the Trump regime are incredibly unpopular and that they can’t win fair and square.

And Trump’s made it clear: if he gets away with this in one state, he’ll take the same playbook to Missouri, Ohio, Florida—any other red state where he can bully the GOP to twist the rules to keep himself and his allies in power.

But we aren’t backing down. Texas Democrats have left the state to block the vote, risking fines and arrest to defend our democracy and highlight the stakes of this Trump power play. They’re standing up for their constituents, and for every single one of us.

Now it’s our turn to stand with them.

Republicans in Texas called a special legislative session this week to try and steal five congressional seats for Trump, instead of prioritizing the needs of working families in Texas who are dealing with rising costs and the aftermath of the unprecedented floods just one month ago.

Trump and Republicans know that voters are rejecting their agenda. But they’ll stop at nothing to try and cling to power in the midterms, even if it means thwarting the will of the voters and threatening elected officials. It all amounts to nothing less than an attempted coup.

But Texas Democrats aren’t rolling over.

In a courageous move, they broke quorum and left the state in order to block this blatant abuse of power—even as Gov. Abbott threatens to have them arrested, prosecuted, and removed from office.

These state legislators are doing everything they can to stand up for their own constituents, and for all of us. They are risking everything to oppose aspiring monarchs like Trump and Abbott. Let’s show them that we have their backs today and in the days ahead.

This is not an isolated threat. All fifty states should be on high alert.

Right now, Trump, Abbott, and their cronies are testing the waters. Rigging elections, eroding voting rights, silencing voters, and creating a stranglehold on Congress are their long-term goals.

And Texas is the first test.

If we don’t hold the line here, it will set a dangerous precedent that other Republican-controlled states will be sure to follow.

We need to show Trump, Abbott, and Republicans everywhere that we won’t back down.

These are not lawful arrests. This is state-sanctioned abduction. Period.

Without visible badges and names, people have no way to confirm if they are interacting with legitimate government officials—leaving everyone vulnerable to chaos, confusion, and danger caused by bad actors impersonating law enforcement. It raises the already fraught political temperature even more by stoking uncertainty and fear in the individuals being questioned and detained, as well as in bystanders.

And it creates dangerous conditions that leave communities vulnerable.

When ICE agents operate in plain clothes and without visible ID, it creates the perfect cover for abuse. Multiple alarming news reports have already surfaced of bad actors impersonating ICE across the country—kidnapping, robbing, assaulting, and scamming people. These accounts are horrific. The increased anonymity of ICE agents increases the likelihood of these kinds of incidents and recklessly endangers everyone.

Let’s be clear: Immigration enforcement officers should not be allowed to hide behind masks and omit pertinent information such as their names, badge numbers, and agencies.

When ICE agents hide their identity, it makes it impossible for individuals to hold officials accountable for their actions. It opens the floodgates for abuses of power and unchecked violations of our civil and human rights. As Trump ramps up his mass deportation plans—allocating billions of dollars to more ICE agents and detention centers—it becomes even more urgent that communities have visibility and transparency into who is carrying out these inhumane raids.

Elected officials in California and New York are working to pass legislation to stop ICE officials from covering their faces. But people across the country need to have the same transparency and protection. That's why members of Congress have introduced legislation, the VISIBLE Act, requiring immigration enforcement officers to display clearly legible identification, prohibiting nonmedical face coverings, and establishing disciplinary procedures for violations.

We're going to need every single Democrat in Congress to use their position to sound the alarm, speak out about the consequences of ICE's cowardly actions, and expose ICE’s abuse, and there are two actions you can take RIGHT NOW:

1) Register for our monthly phone bank on Monday, July 28, featuring Senator Alex Padilla, where we’ll contact our friends and neighbors and urge them to pressure their senators to bring the VISIBLE Act to a vote.

2) Join the over 60,000 people who have signed the petition to demand Congress pass the VISIBLE Act and hold ICE accountable.

Health care workers and experts say these extreme Medicaid cuts could result in vulnerable Americans no longer being able to receive care—either because they lose coverage or health care centers in their communities close down. Already, a rural hospital in Nebraska announced it was shutting down as a result, and more than 300 are at risk of closing nationwide.

The Medicaid restrictions alone would cause 11.8 million Americans to lose health care coverage over the next 10 years.

Researchers estimate the bill will cost 22.3 million families to lose all or some of their SNAP benefits.

What will these cuts look like for Americans?

The bill is expected to increase the national deficit by $3 trillion over the next 10 years, according to experts. Republicans will have to make up that money from somewhere to fund their energy, military, and border spending, as well as giving their billionaire friends tax breaks.

So where will Republicans get the money so the rich don’t have to pay taxes? Well, gutting programs like Medicaid would also create major gaps in state funding and devastate state budgets. This would force states to raise taxes or cut other critical parts of their budget in order to fill the gap.

That’s you. Everyday Americans will be fronting the bill for the wealthy’s tax cuts.

This term, we’ve seen a number of devastating decisions, including these:

• Trump v. CASA: The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision in the birthright citizenship case allows Trump to rule unconstitutionally while limiting lower court's’ power to check his administration’s attacks on our rights. Trump is seeking outsized power to tell us who gets to be an American. This is a brazen attempt to upend legal citizenship in this country. Now Trump’s executive order ending our constitutionally guaranteed right to birthright citizenship could go into effect within 30 days.
  

• U.S. v. Skrmetti: The court ruled that Tennessee can move forward with their ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth.
  

• Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic: The court ruled that patients can’t sue their states for refusing Medicaid coverage at Planned Parenthood health centers, opening the door for states to strip Medicaid coverage from Planned Parenthood centers across the country—resulting in patients not being able to get reproductive or sexual health care, including birth control, STI testing, cancer screenings, and more.
  

• Mahmoud v. Taylor: The court ruled on the side of parents who sought the right, based on their religion, to opt their children out of school curricula with LGBTQ+ storylines.

Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans packed the court with extremist judges to rule in their favor. Time and time again,Trump-backed judges give him more power.

They’ve ruled that he has presidential immunity. That Trump is allowed on the ballot even if he incited an insurrection. They worked alongside him and anti-abortion extremists to overturn Roe v. Wade and take away our access and rights to an abortion.

We know the Supreme Court won’t save us, but we can fight back.

The GOP just proved to everyone how wrong that hot take was.

Today, Republicans in the House voted on final approval of Trump’s awful budget. It will now head to Trump for his signature, after which it will become law.

Instead of doing anything to lower costs or make the lives of working people easier, this Republican budget is an in-your-face betrayal of the working-class voters who helped send them to Congress in the first place:

• It takes away health care from more people than any bill in American history

• It ends food assistance for millions, forcing more children and families into hunger than any bill in history

• It supercharges Trump’s lawless ICE and will allow them to kidnap and forcibly remove more innocent people and spread more terror in our neighborhoods

• All so they can permanently give billionaires and the wealthy more tax cuts, in one of the largest legislative wealth transfers in history.

Even they themselves know how bad this bill is. That’s why multiple Republican members of Congress were trashing it — before voting for it.

And it’s why the final text of this bill intentionally delays some of the worst of the cuts, including cuts to Medicaid, until after the 2026 midterms.

People deserve leaders who will fight for them—not obey the commands of their billionaire backers.

The same Republicans who just voted for this bill are going to spend the next 16 months trying to run as far and as fast away from it as they can. We are not going to let them get away with it.

Republicans just made it clear that they will never be a “party of the working class.”
